If you recently notice a large buzzing insect around your home or a papery nest tucked under your roof. You may be wondering, “Are hornets dangerous?” The short answer is yes, they are amongst the most defensive flying insect.

On July 2022, 60-year-old Ronnie Ang, set out for a routine morning cycle along the Sembawang Park Connector. According to the coroner’s report, Ronnie was attacked by a swarm of hornets near the God of Wealth Temple.

A massive hornets nest on a roof can turn an ordinary property into a danger zone overnight. In Singapore’s tropical climate, hornets thrive throughout the year. Building nests in quiet, hidden places such as roof eaves, attics or nearby nesting sites in trees.
